I've never worked with an interior designer before. What can I expect?
During the initial consultation, we'll walk though the space and talk about color, furnishings, things you like about the space, things you don't like and what you'd like to accomplish. This part usually takes 1 to 2 hours and many times we even choose some paint colors during that time. Most clients are really suprised at how much we can accomplish during my first visit (and sometimes that's all you need!). After that, if additional consultation or shopping is needed, we'll decide how to proceed.
Each client is different and I'm very flexible with how we work together. Some clients like to have me there every step of the way. Others feel confident going out and finding some things on their own and just need a little guidence. I find that most clients find it fun and productive to go out shopping together or to sit down at the computer and find some things online (we usually end up with a combination of both).
What's the difference between your interior design and e-Decorating services?
Interior design services are best if you want or need to have a designer through the whole process or are doing something more detailed, such as a remodel. You may also prefer these services if you are more specific in what you want. E-Decorating is perfect if you are on a limited budget, need help getting started, or just need to freshen up your space with furniture ideas, a new furniture arrangement or paint colors.
Can I combine different e-Decorating services in my home?
Absolutely! You might need a whole new living room, but only need a floor plan for your family room and paint colors for your kitchen and bedroom. E-Decorating allows you to add on different options a la carte such as a floor plan or paint colors.
If I'm an e-Decorating client and live in the Phoenix area, do I have to have an in-home consultation?
Not at all. Although most local clients choose to have an in-home consultation, you can save some money by sending photos and measurements just like an out of town client would do. If you're paying online, just be sure to choose the payment options for clients living outside the local area.
Will you give me ideas for the rest of my home during an e-Decorating in-home consultation?
During the e-Decorating in-home consultation, ideas and paint colors will be discussed for the purchased room(s) only. However, if you would like a consultation for any additional rooms, I can arrange to do that on the same day for an hourly rate of $80.
I love the e-Decorating package that you designed for me! Can you come over and arrange everything for me?
Of course! If you're a local client, I can return to your home to arrange your furniture and accessories and also hang your artwork for an hourly rate of $80.
Do you take on small projects?
I love working on small projects. I've had many clients who just need to hire me for a couple of hours to get them started or to choose paint colors. Others may need help shopping for the perfect sofa or dining room table. I only require a one hour minimum consultation.
What's your payment policy?
For our first meeting, I request payment at the end of the consultation. One day room make overs are payable that day upon completion. If you become a contracted interior design client, you will be billed by invoice.
E-decorating clients must pay in full in order for the work to begin (local clients may submit payment during the consultation).
