Here's one of the many projects I've been busy with lately. I received my Garden Crate for my birthday last month and planted some herbs and veggies. Everything is doing so well! I've planted bell peppers, chives, basil, Italian parsley and artichokes.
I've been wanting to plant a small vegetable garden on my back patio, but wanted to do something raised to keep the dog from digging in it and to keep out the roof rats (one of the perks of living in the city and being surrounded by citrus trees). I think I just found the perfect planter from a local company, The Garden Crate. Luckily, my birthday is coming up and I think this makes the perfect gift (are you reading this, husband?). I'm thinking it might be nice to put casters on the bottom so I can wheel it around to different spots on the patio, if need be. Now, what to plant...

New Kitchen

This past weekend, we started work on getting a new kitchen in the bungalow. We were planning on tackling the floor to ceiling mirrors that a previous owner thought would look classy. And if one mirror was good, then a dozen or so would be better. Yeah, we have that many. But we suddenly had some water damage in the kitchen and so our decision was made.

We're going with white IKEA Adel cabinets and we already have wood countertops.

I acquired this piece over the weekend, thanks to my sister-in-law and some furniture she inherited to sell at her garage sale.
