New York City (in miniature)

The Sandpit from Sam O'Hare on Vimeo.

This video makes me so happy, I just had to share. It was created using tilt-shift photography which makes the city looks like it's in miniature. So amazing! It sure does make me home sick for New York, but in a good way.

Girl's Room Dilemma

One of my clients had purchased some Pottery Barn bedding through eBay for her young girl's room that she's redoing. Recently she fell in love with a headboard from the Dwell Studio collection at Target. Since she couldn't return the bedding, she was wondering if it would work with the headboard. I suggested adding brightly colored pillows to help balance out the heavy contrast of the stripes. These pillows from Target would be perfect and now she can safely buy the headboard she's been coveting!

Give a Day Get a Disney Day

Kyle Burke via ABC15

Joey and I recently participated in the Give a Day Get a Disney Day program through HandsOn Greater Phoenix and it was such a great experience! We helped to spruce up Starshine Academy by refinishing picnic tables where they eat lunch, installing new benches in the garden and on the playground, making new wooden bins for trash and recycling and painting a mural. Since Starshine Academy is in our neighborhood, it was an added bonus that we could help within our own community. It was great to see so many people and lots of families out volunteering. Mickey and Minnie were there too!

Not only did we get a couple of free Disneyland tickets for our efforts but, more importantly, we felt really good about what we did and it was a great way to spend some time together.  We can't wait to sign up for another day of volunteering!

Anthropologie Knobs

I've been a little MIA lately on my blog. We've been doing lots of renovations on our master bedroom (which is much smaller now) and have added a walk-in closet which is getting its finishing touches. On top of that I've been traveling, working on some photo shoots and designing for my wonderful interior design clients. I've had a bit of a hard time finding a moment to sneak in here post, so I apologize.

One of the next projects for the bedroom will involve painting my dresser and adding new knobs so I've been looking at the selection at Anthopologie. Here are some of my favorites...
